Black Cohosh

This is a perennial plant that loves the high lands and grows up to nine feet in height. The leaves are ternate and pinnate, and some of them have three serrate leaflets. The flowers are small and white and grow in racemes.

Properties and Use

This plant has expectorant, astringent, antispasmodic, diuretic and sedative effects and can have beneficial effects for strong coughs and chorea. Black cohosh infusion is good for rheumatism or bronchitis.
