Arnica

It is a perennial plant that is usually found in mountainous areas. The leaves at the base of the plant are larger than the ones at the top, they are lanceolated and have a petiole whereas the latter are sessile.  Its flowers look like daisies and the stem is slightly hairy.

Properties and Use

This plant is mainly for external use and it has emollient, stimulant, diuretic, expectorant,  diaphoretic and vulnerary effects. It is used diluted  and it is used for healing irritations, wounds and bruises. It can also be helpful when treating mouth and throat inflammation or to relieve abdominal pains.
