Hibiscus is an annual or biennial plant that grows up to 6 feet in height. It grows wild in its countries of origin but it is also cultivated or grown as an ornamental plant. The leaves are compound with serrate leaflets. The flowers are large and yellow with a red centre but they vary in colour depending on the species.

Properties and Use

Many types of hibiscus are efficiently used for their diuretic, antispasmodic, astringent, emollient, stomachic and demulcent properties.
