Peyronie’s disease

A disorder of the penis in which part of the sheath of fibrous connective tissue thickens, causing the penis to bend whilst erected. The problem constantly makes intercourse painful and difficult. The thickened area can be felt as a firm nodule when the penis is flaccid. Ultimately, some of the erectile tissue can also thicken. Men over forty are most susceptible. The cause of this is unknown.

The disease can get better without treatment. Otherwise, surgical removal of the thickened area and replacement with normal tissue can be undergone.
