Mallet finger

A widespread sports injury, mallet finger is injury to the bone or tendon in a fingertip that pushes the tip into a bent position. Treatment is via splint or by a temporary insertion of wire through the bones to hold the finger straight and in place. The injury should heal within two to three months.
