Lichen simplex

Patches of itchy, thickened, and occasionally discoloured skin that arises from constant scratching. Typical sites are the wrist, elbow area, neck, and ankles. Lichen simplex is most frequent in women and is usually stress related. Treatment is by oral antihistamine drugs and creams with corticosteroid drugs in them, and can also involve dealing with any stress or anxiety issues.
