Kienbock disease

Death of tissue cells in the wrist bone known as the lunate bone. The disorder, characterised by stiffness and pain in the wrist, is brought on by an inadequate blood supply, usually the result of an undiagnosed or unsuccessfully treated fracture. Treatment often consists of resting the joint. In a small amount of cases, surgery is required.
