Kartegener’s syndrome
An inherited disorder in which the heart is situated on the right instead of the left side of the chest (a condition formally known as dextrocardia). This is linked with abnormal functioning of the cilia (hair-like projections) lining the airways, which impairs clearance of mucus and results in bronchiectasis and sinusitis.
