Abrupt pain in a tooth brought on by a change in surrounding air pressure.  Flying at high altitudes in lowered atmospheric pressure can cause a pocket of air in the dental pulp to enlarge and irritate the nerve in the root.  Aerodontalgia is more probable with poorly filled root canals or improperly fitted fillings.
