A noncancerous tumour with a cell structure alike to that of skin. The growth has sweat glands, hairs and sebaceous glands. Dermoid cysts can also hold fragments of cartilage, teeth and even bone. The cysts may occur in numerous parts of the body, but they are more often than not found in the ovaries and on the skin around the neck or head, creating small, painless swellings. Dermoid cysts very rarely become cancerous.
