Xeroderma Pigmentosum
Dry, wrinkled, freckled skin which ages prematurely by the age of about five. Skin appears normal at birth but the disease emerges due to photosensitivity (extreme sensitivity to sunlight). Noncancerous skin tumours develop, as well as skin cancers. Eye related problems can also be associated.
Treatment involves protecting the skin from sunlight. If skin cancer occur, these are usually treated surgically or through radiotherapy.
