Venomous stings and bites
The injection of venom by some animals via their mouth parts (bites) or other injecting apparatus (stings). Venoms are usually carried to discourage predators, and are occasionally used to immobilize or kill prey. It is unusual for a venomous animal to attack a person unless it has been disturbed or provoked. Specific anti venoms are available to treat many, but not all types of animal venom.
